Workshop Terms and Conditions
1. Recommended Age:
a. The workshops are recommended for children aged 6 to14 years old.
b. Parents / legal guardians are not required to join the workshops with their children / wards.
2. Registration:
a. Registration for Workshop sessions is required.
b. By registering your child / ward for the Workshop, you confirm that you are authorised to act on behalf of your child / ward, and consent to his / her participation in the Workshop on these Terms and Conditions.
c. By registering your child / ward for the Workshop, you consent to the Building and Construction Authority (the “Organiser”) collecting, using, and disclosing the personal data of yourself and your child / ward for the purpose of administering and conducting the Workshop. Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties except where required by law, or where it is necessary for Workshop administration.
d. Each person can only be registered for one session per day.
3. Waiting List Policy:
a. If a registered participant is marked absent at the scheduled start time (see paragraph 4), the Organiser reserves the right to offer the vacant slot to the next eligible individual on the waiting list.
b. The Organiser will attempt to contact waiting list participants using the contact details provided, but may also fill the slot on-site where immediate availability is required. The Organiser is not obliged to hold a slot for any specific duration if no response is received promptly.
4. Punctuality:
a. Please arrange for your child / ward to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the registered session.
b. The Organiser reserves the right to consider your child / ward if he / she has not arrived by the scheduled start time. In such cases, the session slot may be releasedto others on the waiting list without further notice.
5. Materials:
a. Workshop materials (ie. LEGO bricks) will be provided for use during the session.
b. To support environmental sustainability, materials will be reused across sessions and cannot be taken home.
c. In the event that participants misappropriate / lose / damage the workshop materials, the parents / guardians will be liable to pay for the affected materials.
6. Safety Guidelines & Indemnity:
a. Participation in the LEGO Workshop involves physical activity and the use of small plastic components. While all reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure a safe environment, parents / legal guardians acknowledge and accept that participation may involve certain inherent risks, including but not limited to: minor injuries (such as cuts, bruises, or abrasions), tripping or slipping, allergic reactions, choking hazards, and damage to personal property .
b. To the extent permitted under Singapore law, the Organiser, its employees, contractors, agents, and venue operators shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages or loss, suffered by participants during the workshops, except where such injury or damage is caused by the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the Organiser.
c. For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, the Organiser may require you to collect your children / wards if Workshop conduct guidelines are not followed, or if their behaviour pose a risk to others or to the safe operation of the Workshop.
7. Photos & Media:
a. During the Workshop, photographs and video recordings may be taken by the Organiser for publicity and promotion purposes.
b. By allowing your child / ward to attend this workshop, you consent to your child’s / ward’s photos / videos being taken for the purpose of publicity and for use in materials used to promote the "Building Singapore Festival: From Dreams to Reality".
c. All media collected will be handled in accordance with the applicable data protection laws in Singapore.
8. Health & Hygiene:
a. You are responsible for ensuring that your child / ward is physically fit and medically able to take part in the Workshop. Any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs must be disclosed to the Organiser in advance.
b. Please withdraw your child / ward from the registered session if your child / ward is feeling unwell. Participants who appear visibly unwell may be asked to sit out or leave the session in the interest of group safety.
9. Collection after Workshop:
a. You are responsible for ensuring that your child / ward is picked up promptly. The Organiser’s responsibility for the supervision of participants ends at the scheduled conclusion time of the Workshop.
b. In the event that a child is not collected on time, the Organiser will take reasonable steps to ensure the child’s safety until collection, including contacting you using the contact details provided. However, extended supervision is not part of the Workshop programme and may not be staffed or resourced beyond the scheduled time.
c. The Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, or incident occurring after the Workshop has ended, where such loss or incident is not due to the Organiser’s negligence.
10. Organiser’s Rights:
a. The Organiser may cancel or postpone the workshop(s) if the minimum number of participants is not met.
b. The Organiser may amend the terms and conditions as necessary.
c. The Organiser will inform you of such workshop cancellation or postponement, or amendments to these Terms & Conditions (if any) by email correspondence to the email address you have provided.
